Why do I need a corporate structure if I am solo entrepreneur/the only member of the business?

The answer is protection from liability.  Even if there is only one member working on the business, it is important to distinguish between the individual and the business entity in terms of liability and taxes.  Documents such as business contracts and commercial leases should be signed in the name of the entity and not an individual name.
